Before taking the dead man pull shot, first ensure that your opponent is using the 2 bar defensive man and they are closest to each other and they are in front of the goal. When the defensive rod with 2 bar men is pushed against the wall then the cannot defend the far post and not able to move any further. That is why the shot is called “dead man”. And when the defensive man is in front of the goal and not able to defend your shot or not able to move then you can easily score a goal.
Dead Man Push Shot:
Dead man push shot is occurred when the opponent’s 2 bar men is in front of the goal and more away from each other. And then the man cannot be able to defend the near post.

The Foosball dead man shot is quite difficult to master in. So, one needs a lot of practice and time to become a master of the dead man shot. Simply hitting the ball straight may not be able to make a goal. For avoiding to give any hints to the opponent, one has to move the ball back and forth for few time. If you do this then the opponent will use his middle goalie to defend your shot and then you will be able to score a goal easily by this dead man shot. For taking the shot, one need to hit the ball from the end of the bar offensive man. And then take the shot by using the middle offensive man. Because this way creates a right angle to hit the ball. And for dead man shot accurate angle is necessary to score a goal because if you hit the ball straight towards the goal then it may not able to make a goal or may not be able to create a proper angle for dead man shot.
Understanding the Foosball Dead Man Shot Defense Style:
While taking a dead man shot, it is very important to check your opponent style of defense. Ensure that your opponent’s Foosball man is in front of the goal and will not able to defend your post. If the opponent’s 2 bar men is in front of the goal and they are closest to each other then they won’t be able to defend any far post, at this moment you can take a dead man pull shot to achieve a goal. Or if the opponent’s bar man is in front of the goal and they are further away from each other then they won’t be able to defend any near post, then you can take a dead man push shot to score a goal. And if your opponent is able to move his middle goalie forth and back then the opponent will be capable to defend the part of the goal you are planning for. Then it is better to avoid a dead man shot and take another style of shot. So, it is most important to understand the defense style before taking a dead man shot, otherwise you will fail to achieve a goal.
